I love how on St. Patrick's Day, everyone is Irish.
For example, my last name in Gaelic means "descendant of the skilled navigator."
The women in my family (mainly my sisters and I) seem to have misinterpreted this; we like to boast that we're really good with directions and finding our way (read: better than any of the men who might have married into the family). I guess we take the technicality that at one point there was a fore-father, who actually was a good navigator, to heart. And admittedly this sometimes means we over-look the fact that we're descendants and have not necessarily acquired said apparent genetic trait.
It saddens me a bit to look at these pictures from St. Patrick's Days passed since I won't be able to celebrate with friends today. I'm starting a new job (!yay!) so I don't see any green beer in my future. I'll have to save up for next year because seriously when else will I get a chance to wear my green jeans?!
May the luck of the Irish be with you as you get your merry-making on! And please, have a drink for me :)
