i don't know what sort of crazy parent magic it is, but so many days I'll be struggling through bedtime/a long drive/a trying day only to turn around and spend all of my free-time with mike (usually after June is in bed! go figure!) talking about funny or touching things that june has said or done throughout the day. I can literally be pulling my hair out, not an ounce of patience left and the minute I get a moment, I'm like "June said/did the funniest thing today!" I think it's nature's way of saying "obviously the hard days are wayyyyy over-shadowed by the good stuff." I started to write down some of these things because I don't want to forget them. we're at that point where some days I can see her two year-old face morphing into a full grown person right before my eyes and these are the sorts of moments I want to hold onto! These are the things June says.
After having been stuck in traffic for 3 hours, Easter weekend:
"Mama. mama. mama. mama. mama? mama. mama? mama. mama."
"June. can't you say daddy's name?"
to my belly:
"hi baby. here baby. " (hands baby a toy she's holding)
When she catches a glimpse of my bare belly:
"Look! baby! 'sited!!" (excited.) hug baby! ( wraps her arms around herself.)
at night when were in her rocking chair, before she gets into her crib:
"Rock, little bit longer."
When i'm holding something that she wants to have:
"Hi mama. Here mama. Thank-you mama." (takes whatever it is I'm holding because she's [not yet] two and knows how to be charming?!).
as we're leaving the house:
as we're in the car driving away:
"biiiiiiiii daddy. 'next time." (see you next time?)
(yelling) at the ducks in the park:
"Hi duckies! HIIIIIII." (waving frantically to the ducks)
as I'm listening from outside the door at nap time. she's tucking herself in and:
"Juney get cosy-cosy."
takes a steal at my cleavage:
looks up at me: "Bums"
