Hi there! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter Weekend. I think it was last year that I decided that this was officially my favourite holiday (which will surprise my friends since generally I start getting in the Christmas spirit by the second weekend of November!!) I'm not sure exactly how the switch happened but last year I just remember thinking; my heart is so happy right now (and omgoodness was just looking at photos from a year ago this weekend and June is SO small and such a baby still. How is it possible that there is so much change in one year?!) This holiday is filled with so much of the good feels: hope, renewal and cleansing. I'm so grateful that there's a holiday which focuses on this and reminds us to stop and give thanks at the same time. And I have so much to be thankful for. I always do, but reflecting on this wonderful weekend I was reminded just how lucky we are.
We visited my parents and my sisters and managed to pack in just the right amount of activities. We had an egg hunt for June in my parent's front yard even snuck in a visit to my sister's farm. I was completely blown away with how quickly she picked up the egg hunt. Her little squeals of "ooooo... look, LOOK!!" made the event for me. Mike and I were talking about it after the fact and decided how great these sorts of traditions are now that we have June to play along with us. We also managed to snap some photos in our Sunday best - which is no easy feat when your toddler sits still for exactly 2.5 seconds. Also the pregnant belly which doesn't move all that quickly these days either..... making it hard to get up for a game of chase the toddler running around a slightly muddy yard in her best dress ;)
Some more photos from the weekend....
This dress. Gah! I think I should admit for the record, being a mom of a girl and the buying of the pretty dresses kinda fills my heart up. And I'm completely ok that she keeps it honest by running everywhere and a little bit of dirt on the hem ;)
See? constantly running. a mother's life-long battle to get a good family photo starts.... now?!
maybe one of my fave photos to date of June and her daddy <3
let's be honest, Easter outfits are every mom's dream, right?!
And a quick visit to my sister's farm. Her cows are friends with the Alpacas & in a few weeks the Alpacas are getting sheared for the Spring. I really hope we can make it for that event because I think they will just be the funniest looking things with a fresh haircut!!
the cows are obsessed with being brushed with a straw broom. ^^ it was kinda funny to watch them follow my brother-in-law around the yard.
easter egg hunting: June made this game her business!
Happy Easter! Happy Spring!! So looking forward to this season ahead <3
